Researchers at Rajaie cardiovascular medical and research center for the first time in Iran have developed a biorepository infrastructure, which includes biospecimen collections, processing and storage units. The cardiovascular biobank is a collection of samples, including whole blood, serum, plasma, DNA and peripheral blood mononuclear cells and like many biobanks in existence, the Rajaie cardiovascular medial and research center biobank is focused on particular cardiovascular diseases. The Rajaie cardiovascular Biobank serves as a library for scientist, instead of having to look for volunteers for each new research project, researchers and students can use samples from the Biobank as well as clinical and health information already collected. Our samples are available to national and international scientist and research groups.

Participants in the Biobank provide biospecimens, complete a health questionnaire, and allow access to medical records now and in the future. Once a participant becomes a part of the Biobank, he or she becomes a part of ongoing health research and their donation enables researchers to examine the roots of disease for many years to come. The participants have the right to leave the Biobank at any time.

Our Biobank stablished as a scientific collaboration between the clinical, surgical and basic science teams and allows researchers to access annotated cardiovascular patient biological specimens. The Rajaie cardiovascular Biobank, staffed by a dedicated team of researchers which provide high quality bio-sample banking.
